Phoebe is your typical High School girl except for the fact her and her best friend Margi dress like goths and her other bestfriend and neighbor is a popular jock. Things are changing in their high schoool since teenagers in the USA die and then come back to life. Her school has one of the highest zombie populations in the country and she begins to befriend the zombies in her school. She also begins crushing on one zombie in particular Tommy Willams.

  • Phoebe "Pheeble" Kendall: The heroine of this story, she is a tall, pale skinned, black haired goth girl. She is best friends with Adam. She has a huge crush on Tommy. She becomes part of the group in her high school that believes that humans and the undead can coexist.
  • Adam "Lame Man" Layman: A human football player who is best friends with Phoebe. He is tall, muscled from karate, and has blonde hair. He dislikes Tommy and the other undead, finding them creepy.
  • Tommy Williams: A zombie with blonde/gray hair. He is a zombie activist. He has a crush on Phoebe and attemps football. He wants to help the zombie population out.
  • Margi "Daffy" Vachon: Phoebe's best friend. A goth fashionesta who loves the color pink and music with the words death, skeletons, and anything dark. She has pink spikey hair and is very sweet. She doesn't hate "zombies" but doesn't exactly like them.
  • Pete Martinsburg: Adam and Pete were good friends before the summer where he went to California to be with his dad and Adam become disciplined in Karate. Pete enjoys being the Alpha male on the football team. He is the leader of the Pain Crew.
  • Colette Beauvoir: Was 15 when she drowned and was a friend of Phoebe and Margi. Now they don't speak, and she's stuck forever as a 15 year old.
  • Karen DeSonne: She is a zombie that wears very short skirts and enjoys painting. She is accepted into the Hunter Foundation.
  • Timothy Cole "TC" Stavis: Adam, Pete and Stavis were good friends. Stavis is on the football team and the Pain Crew.
  • Angela Hunter: Angela and her father co-found the Hunter Foundation. She is extremely beautiful.
  • Evan Talbot: A zombies that likes science fiction especially Star Wars. He is accepted into the Hunter Foundation.
  • Julie: A deceased ex-girlfriend of Pete's that lived in California. He met her when he was visiting his dad.
  • Harris Morgan: A member of the football team and the newest member of the Pain Crew.
  • Coach Konrathy: Orders his players to do illegal moves, and does not want any corpses on his team.
  • Kevin Zumbrowski: A zombie that is a member of the Hunter Foundation.
  • Master Griffin: Adam's Karate instructor
  • Sylvia Stelman: A zombie that likes cats. She is accepted into the Hunter Foundation.
  • Takayuki: A zombie that is missing pieces of skin. Adam nicknamed him Smiley.
  • Tayshawn Wade: A zombie that likes action and horror movies. He is accepted into the Hunter Foundation.
  • Holly Pelletier: Adam's ex-girlfriend. She smells like strawberries, but it is all chemical She doesn't like Phoebe.
  • Thornton "Thorney" Harrowwood: A member of the football team that also joins the Hunter Foundation.
  • Mrs. Rodriguez: High School Algebra teacher.
  • Father Fitzpatrick: A Catholic Priest that the responsible for St. Jude's Mission
  • Principal Kim: Students that don't like her call her "Kimchi"
  • Gino Manetti: A football player on a rival team that Adam was ordered to "hit" and now he will never walk correctly again.
  • Denny Mackenzie: A member of the football team.
  • Steven "Skip" Slydell: An author on many books and articles on the undead movement.
  • Joe "STD" Garrity: Adam's step-dad who improves after having about four (4) beers. He's a mechanic.
  • Johnny Garrity: Adam's stepbrother. He's a mechanic.
  • Mal: A giant zombie
  • Alish Hunter: Angela's father and a scientist that is a founder of the Hunter Foundation.
  • Dallas Jones: A juvenile delinquent that was the original zombie
  • Norm Lathrop: Student at Oakvale High
  • Mr. McKenna: Spanish teacher
  • Jimmy Garrity: Adam's other stepbrother. He's a mechanic.
  • Bill Layman: Adam's father who is an alcoholic and becomes a demon when he drinks.
  • Faith: Tommy's mom and her occupation is a nurse.
  • Duke Davidson: Security Guard at the Hunter Foundation
  • Sharon: TC's date to the homecoming dance.
  • Tori Stewart: Pete's date to the homecoming dance.
  • Haley Rourke: Thorney's date to the homecoming dance. She is tall and is on the basketball team.
