“ Twenty six years ago, realms collided and the human world filled with all manner of supernatural creatures. This event is now referred to as The Great Collision.
Terak is the leader of the Gargoyles, a race that keeps to themselves and trusts no other. Three months earlier he was approached by the Oracle who recommended that he keeps an eye on and protect a human named Larissa Miller.
On the day of the Great Collision, Dt. Miller lost his wife in childbirth and gained his only daughter, Larissa. Now Larissa is a teacher who puts up with her matchmaking father and four over-protective brothers, who are all police officers. She lives in a human city, that's supposed to be free of supernatural creatures. Then one day out of the blue, she's attacked by zombies and saved by a hottie with wings followed by an Amazon-like woman with a flaming sword.
Thus begins the tale of Stone Guardian. Terak must figure out why the zombies have targeted Larissa and what this human means to the future of his race. Larissa doesn't know what to do or who to trust, but her gut tells her to trust Terak. Plus she's attracted to him and the feeling is mutual. Unfortunately Terak is engaged, sort of, to another gargoyle.
I really enjoyed Stone Guardian. I thought it was very well thought out and interesting. I liked the new world the author created and found everything creative and facinating. Who would have thought a gargoyle would make a good, sexy hero? I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. ”
