The first part had potential but I didn't like how the author unraveled the mystery in the middle of the book. The killer was revealed, but the cop was still fumbling for clues... There were unnecessary parts and "Huh" was used sooo many times.

Typical John Sandford novel...I quite like the "Prey series" featuring Lucas Davenport... the books are always action packed and keep the reader guessing...I liked it however NOT one of his better ones...still an enjoyable read though.

Quite different from the other Prey novels! I loved the criss crossing between characters, trying to figure out where each was coming from. The minor storyline of the stakeout was although unnecessary, it worked well and was entertaining still.

If you can say you enjoy books about murder and mayhem, then I enjoyed this book. Sandford's books are always a racing read, trying to see around the next bend in the plot.

Another nonstop page-turner starring delightfully human Lucas Davenport, hot on the trail of a mass murderer, when not enjoying the stakeout of a mobster's woman who doesn't bother closing the blinds. As usual Sandford opens by giving us a look at the murderer in action, so that we know a little more than Davenport does as he starts his investigation and thus can wince when he goes off down a false trail. But there's plenty to keep us puzzling all the way. Plot twists that would justify a novel for most authors are disclosed long before the end, and we're off again to seek new answers.
