Didn’t Like It
“I thought this book was very hard to get into and then never picked up. I couldn't even finish the book I was so bored after 150 pages, it just never seemed to improve.”see full review » see other reviews »
“I must confess I was a bit disappointed, because the first 100 pages were quite a bore. However, it became interesting after that and I read what was left in two afternoons or so. It’s a well-written story, very carnal, very descriptive, with a well-structured universe to draw on. Ramon Espejo, the main character, is a bastard who kills a man and runs in the wilderness to escape. There, he is confronted with strange forces, and, even stranger than that, with himself. That confrontation brings enough insight to lead to death, and a new life, also. It’s been a good read, after all.
Also, I want to add that, after I’ve thought more of Hunter’s Run by Geroge R. R. Martin & Gardner Dozois & Daniel Abraham, it has got running through my mind something which I realized is common of sci-fi: the fragility of human life and the chaos in it. ”

“Not normally much for sci-fi, but I enjoyed this one. I feel I can't discuss it in any capacity, really, without spoiling the story.”Dave W wrote this review Tuesday, August 9, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This book was an interesting book but i think it could have been better. I liked the plot and the story line, it had many twists and turns and the characters were good but it didn't hold my attention. It started off with a great scene but the book didn't carry the great plot through to the end. The plot is basic and it is a typical plot you would see in any book.
Another thing that i found strange was i have no reason there are 3 authors. The story really showed that it was 3 authors and there wasn't a continual theme. Also i don't know why the title of the novel is Hunter's Run because there isn't any character in the book that is named Hunter and it doesn't reflect to any themes or traits. My overall opinion on this book wasn't so good, i wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.”
“Relatively fast read. Interesting twist on inter-species encounters.”snowdrift wrote this review Wednesday, January 19, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This was an interesting read. I was originally expecting a sci-fi book, but what I found was much more of a character novel where the maturation of the character becomes the focus of the story. Don't get me wrong, the standard sci-fi fare of distant planets, aliens, and creatures are well represented, but aren't the main point of this novel. The two big twists in the middle of the book were excellent surprises and I found myself compelled to keep reading it to find out what would happen next.”K V wrote this review Friday, June 18, 2010. “Well written. Not obvious which author wrote which section which is a good thing. Takes an inherently unlikeable hero and in a very believable manner makes him at least a little more likeable by the end. Good plot twists and resolution.”mak52 wrote this review Thursday, September 24, 2009. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
