Pretty engaging for those interested in knowing the details behind the title (which is a great bottom-line summary of the book's contents). The chapter on the credit/banking industry seems unbelievable, except for the fact that I hear the same story from other sources.

A little technical, but I love Warren's intellectual common sense. She appeals to the common person, explaining the difficulties of today's economy and how it came to be that it requires two incomes to support a family. I watched Warren on "Maxed Out". She seems so down to earth and sympathetic to the commoner.
This book was hard to find as it is not available through our library system, but I would recommend spending the money to buy a used copy, especially if you are looking into how to support a family on one income. The book is not a guide, but the facts do provide guidance.

An interesting book, and i like that they didn't just talk about the problem, but tried to consider solutions. the problem is that i didn't agree with many of their solutions: a voucher system for public & private schooling (liked), file bankruptcy if you can't get out of debt within two years (too simplistic). enjoyed the non-academic writing from academics.

I found this book to be very interesting and informative. A mother daughter team authored this book. If you wonder how so many people are going into bankruptcy or barely making ends meet, they give some reasons, and back it up with research.
