Best if you haven't seen the show before 2008 (as in my case), this collection of Keith's "Special Comments" from his show Countdown is a scathing indictment of hypocrites and people trying to do serious harm to our country through the political process. Wonderful book.

The first Special Comment segment was due to a comment made by Head of Homeland Security Chernoff in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I didn't have electricity at the time but thanks to Youtube I was able to watch it at a later date. Here's the statement "Louisiana is a city that is largely under water" Well there's your problem.....no wonder they couldn't get help to us in a timely manner.
The Special Comment segment is one of my favorite parts of Countdown. I also like that he only writes it when something important needs to be said. Keith pretty much says everything I would have wanted to say to the Bush administration.

Transcripts of the "Special Comments" from Olbermann's MSNBC show. Filled with the bite and heat one expects from Teh Keith, it makes for interesting, if politically polarizing reading. You either love him or hate him...and I fall in the former.

I love Kieth Olberman as a news caster/reporter and I loved this book. However this book was over run by qoutes. I'd like to hear what Olberman himself thinks.

Truth and Consequences: Special Comments on the Bush Administration's War on American Values Keith Olbermann

    3 stars

A very quick read, mostly made up from Special Comments made on his show at some time from 2001-2007. Most I hadn't heard due to the fact I really started watching the show this past year. Very precise and right on target. Before each comment, he introduces it and tells you what led up to that particular comment. It is very insightful and if you like the show, you'll like the book.

A thoroughly excellent book, examining the various lies that the Bush administration has fobbed off on the American public.

Great book! I adore Olbermann for his fluency in history and his complete dedication to smoke out hypocrisy among the ranks of the administration.

I particularly like that with regards to Iraq he actually blamed ALL the government and took the Democrats to task for failure on their promise to hold the Republican administration accountable.

Of course this reprints the infamous July 3, 2007 "Special Comment" where he turned 'sir' into a four-letter word. However, there were others included with which I was less familiar, including "A Textbook Definition of Cowardice" and "On Lying" - which discussed a letter sent to him that had fake anthrax in it.

The added context and prefaces to the reprinted special comments made it a little bit more than just a compendium.
