Didn’t Like It“this was a bit of brain numbing fun, something to read just for a break of everything else. Not the greatest but not the worst. Something to read when you have nothing else to read.” see full review » see other reviews » |

The suspension of disbelief needed for this story is phenomenal, yet there's nothing to draw you in to make it worthwhile. The characters are flat and make illogical choices with no reasoning behind them.
[SPOLIERS AHEAD]
A woman with not much time left to live starts stalking a stranger. Stalking, not following, stalking. She follows him around, everywhere he goes, and camps out in the woods across from his house. For five months.
If I were dying, I wouldn't spend my last few precious months stalking somebody.
But you see, she thinks he's a vampire, and maybe he can give her eternal life. So one day, she hops his fence and knocks on his door. When he opens it, she is suddenly convinced he isn't a vampire (though all narration about him makes it painfully obvious to the reader that he is.) She turns to leave, passes out, and tumbles down his steps.
Instead of calling the police, which would be the sane thing to do, he simply carries her inside, and decides he wants to keep her there, so she can pretend to be him in interviews.
You see, the vampire is a romance writer with a female nom de plume.
[SPOILERS END]
I didn't finish this book, but I got far enough to realize it wasn't going to improve. NOT RECOMMENDED!”
“This was a pretty interesting story. A great be careful what you ask for because you just might get it tale. I found the characters interesting and could on some levels relate to what Shannah was going through. When faced with life or death we say one thing but may mean so much more.”

Shannah is dying, follows who she thinks is a vampire, Ronan, home, and ends up pretending to be him, cause he's a romance writer writing with a woman pen name. During a book tour they end up falling in love with each other, all the while being stalked by a reporter and a vampire hunter. Shannah doesn't find out the truth about Ronan for a long time but once she accepts it all is well. The story was written very well. I was so surprised of how much character information I learned. I kept thinking that the story would be ending soon but it kept going and I loved that. I really enjoyed it. 8/10”
