funny and absorbing novel about a Jewish family in London with 4 adult kids in their 20s and 30s, led by a powerful mother who is a prominent rabbi. Great read; towards the middle and end I was trying to only read a few pages at a time to not finish the book too quickly!

This was an ok book. I just picked it up off the new fiction shelf at the library to check out the author. The critics' praise on the back jacket definately over-celebrated the book. It was rather disjointed with too many attempts at being vague yet piquing interest in some sub-plot or another. It is basically the story of a family who appears to be perfect on the outside, but then the two oldest children and the dad disrupt it and finally decide to think for themselves. Insteresting,...
