WARNING: Do not start this book unless you have sometime, because it’s a book you could sit down and read in one sitting it’s so good. This book captured my attention from Chapter 1- It’s HARD for a book to do that, but Linda Howard does accomplishes this in her latest book, Death Angel. I...

This is one of those books that makes you dumber. I'd give it one star but I have a weakness for the paranormal, so that's worth another star to me. The lead character dies -- goes to judgement -- and is given a second chance at life. She comes back determined to be a better person, plus she gets little twinges of precognition and starts telling people things like, "Watch the stairs," and "Don't take the cash to the night deposit this week, you might get shot." Rather than a plot device, however, this newfound ability is treated as just kind of a curious side effect.

This book was, for lack of a more refined term, just plain dumb. So much better brain candy out there. My romance novel reading friends recommend Linda Howard and I thought it would be at least partially decent, but it was painful to finish. Utterly predictable and totally unoriginal.

This was the first Linda Howard book I've read. Somewhere in the middle I was worried that it wasn't going to turn out how I wanted - but it did. I enjoyed her characters and the suspense kept me reading. I will look for more books from her.

Never thought i'd sympathize & feel such a daring & non-ethical heroine. But Mrs Howard, as usual, never fails to make the reader get all emotional with her characters. And i really loved this book with all its darkness, and unusual twists.

Nice love story but a bit of too much of an impossibility

I have been a fan of Linda Howard’s for quite a few years. Recently I have found her books not to be a satisfying and some of her previous books. Not the case with Death Angel. I think this is one of her best books. I read this book almost in one sitting minus bathroom breaks. After reading the first few chapters, I was hooked. Having such, a hot sex scene in the first 25 pages made for an exciting start to the book. I have felt over the years that Howard was not the best at writing love scenes, but she proved me wrong in this book.

The hero and heroine could not be anymore flawed. Simon being a hired killer and Drea a thief but they had chemistry right from the start. Simon was so mysterious but sexy as hell. I loved this book to death. There was only one little problem with it. The ending seemed a little to good to be true. I don’t want to elaborate on what I mean by that for the fear of spoilers. If you want to know and you have read the book, make a comment or contact me.

A woman, Drea, is scorned by her drug-dealing bastard of a lover. He gives her to an assassin who turns out to be a man name Simon. She steals from the drug-dealing bastard and the chase begins, and what a chase it is. Simon is hired by the drug lover to kill her, she’s in a near death/actually death (fuzzy about the term there.) experience and changes her ways with Simon on her heels.

That first scene was a scorcher! Reading about how he sounded and the details, his commands gave me serious goose bumps. Sexy as hell! The way he talks, acts, the love scenes are steamy. The tattoo on his ass was perfect, had me laughing after I finished the scene, even the book. He has to be one of my favorite men from Linda Howard.

The part where she goes to ‘heaven’ and meets her son is a bit…strange. I skipped over a few sentences there, other than that a really great read.

Great book with some interesting ideas about life after death. Both female and male characters were strong and believeable.

I really didn't like this story at all. Super predictable. Way too sappy. Just not my taste.

Not the 'Howard' book I'm used to, which is a novelty, which is good - shakes the brain. It's entertaining. I need to alternate genres.
