The magic touch here in this near-future thriller is that just when you think you know who the good guys and the bad guys are, you realize you may be wrong. A deft adventure thriller that makes you think along the way with the action.

Author Donald J. Bingle Invites Your Comments on Forced Conversion
    January 17, 2009 6:28 PM

    Greetings!

I know that my novel, Forced Conversion, came out four years ago, so it may seem an odd time for me to post a blog about it, but I just recently signed up for the AmazonConnect feature for authors and this is my first chance to chat with readers directly from the page for my book.

First of all, thanks to all of you who posted reviews. I really appreciate it. It shows that you read my book (an incredibly important thing to an author, whether you bought it, borrowed it, or read it in the library) and cared enough about my writing to share your thoughts. Reviews and word-of-mouth is what sells books that are not published by big time authors or written by famous authors. I have also written a lot of stories for various anthologies (you can get the details at ) that have probably sold more copies each than I sold of my novel, but very few of those anthologies get reviews, most especially thoughtful reviews. So having a bunch of people who read my book post reviews really charges me up.

And whether or not you've posted a review, I'd love to hear from you. Not just what you thought of my novel, but what questions you have about it or how I came to write it, what you think happens after the book ends, whether you liked or disliked various aspects of it, and what confused or troubled you. If your book club reads any of my novels, I also may be available (schedule permitting) to chat with your group by phone or (locally) in person. I also sometimes speak at writing, gaming, or science fiction conventions about writing, writers groups, gaming, science fiction, time travel, writing on demand, short story writing techniques, and the like.

    The forum is now open.
