Excellent! I definately agree with the other comment mentioning that the book was slow getting started: typical chick lit, main character works in editing office, boy troubles, etc. This character is humerous, twisting the freudian theory of penis envy into baby envy. I laughed hysterically as...

My husband picked this up for me from the airport. I tried to read it but hated the manipulation, could not finish it.

Excellent! I definately agree with the other comment mentioning that the book was slow getting started: typical chick lit, main character works in editing office, boy troubles, etc. This character is humerous, twisting the freudian theory of penis envy into baby envy. I laughed hysterically as she was going through the experience of pregnancy, losing her mind and bladder control and everything! This book was funny to me, because the concept of wanting pregnancy without the actual pregnancy seems so funny to me. I loved the twists that popped up in the last few pages; so keep reading if you're thinking of putting it down!

The book was a little slow getting started, but I'm glad I stuck it out. It was a really fun book. I just finished the sequel, and I enjoyed it even more.

Strange chick lit--a woman who decides she wants to be pregnant because pregnant women get so much attention. When she doesn't get pregnant, she just pretends she is. One really wants to just shake her!

i'm game for reading chick lit, occasionally - but i dislike this author's writing style. the main character is so annoying! silly premise, too.

OK, I had kind of a love/hate thing going with this one. On the one hand Jane Taylor is not a very lovable protagonist. Many many times I wanted to give her a good shake. However, there was something that kept drawing me back, hoping for her redemption, so much so that I have put the follow up book, Crossing the Line, on my wishlist. I didn't like that the book has such an abrupt and incomplete ending. Thankfully, the first two chapters of Crossing the Line are included with this book. Without this continuation, I would have been sorely disappointed and would have rated much lower.

Overall, it was engaging enough to keep me reading, but not really one that I will think about much now that it is finished, nor would I read it again. It was light enough to read on the subway to school. It kept me entertained which was my main goal for now I suppose.
