In the small town of Lamb's Corner, Lambert's Square is the home to several specialty shops. One is called Cocoon, an antique linen shop, which is owned by the agoraphobic Julia Darrow. Her predictable and uneventful life is turned upside down when John Dodge, an ousider, buys Scrivener's, a pen shop, and begins to woo her. His training as a therapist helps Julia to leave the cocoon she has created for herself in this small town.
