“A fast read romance novel with an end I really didn't see coming. Brooke lets her guard down when she meets Jett, her new boss. They have a 2 week business trip to Italy where things heat up. The end leaves me wanting to pick up the sequel, if it's as good as the first, it won't disappoint!”see full review » see other reviews »
Didn’t Like It
“To much of a set-up story for book two for it to really leave a mark.”see full review » see other reviews »
“This book confused me right down to the cover photo. It didn't match the storyline at all. The story seemed rushed and had several errors in it that irritated me. Usually I can look over it but I thought this book had so much potential and to see it just slapped together was disappointing. The "love" was unreal considering the beginning of their arrangement and they barely communicated or had enough reasons to be in love in my opinion. I want to continue this series as I am curious about the mystery part of it. That was the most solid part in the book! ”Christina E wrote this review 3 weeks ago. “Eeshh what can I say about this book. It's pretty sad when I can't really even figure it out. I just didn't like it and really some of it i just didn't really even get. I really didn't think the characters where all that bad, well maybe. I get that what happened to Brooke was suppose to be uber traumatic but it still left me going, "Wait that was all?" Sadly I needed more for me to be invested in her tragic past. I caught myself kind of just rolling my eyes as she told her story, there just wasn't enough there for me. Maybe it was just Brooke herself, it just seemed like there was something missing for her.
I liked the story at first but the more I got into it the more I was just like "Oh come on already this is ridiculous". I didn't like it at all until chapter 30 and I loved chapter 3o. It seemed to be the only real part of the book but once again after that it just flopped for me. The sex wasn't even really all that great, ecspecially not their first time. It was to wham bam thank you mam for me. Don't get me wrong, now some of the scenes were hot but over all, nopers. And of course it ended on a cliff hanger and yes I will be reading the next book. Sighhhhh”
“I know this is the first in a series but to make some of their choices seem more believable or realistic, I needed more back story. I realize it will be revealed in the next book but it was a bit too much to take on faith.”TracySchoenberg wrote this review Monday, April 1, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “I couldn't put this book down!, it was an easy read. Brook meets a guy named Jett and senses that he is trouble right away. She ends up in bed with him after a night of drinking. Only to get fired from her job at a realist ate firm then rehired by Mr Mayfield. Only to find out that Jett is Mr Mayfield. He is interested in acquiring a property in Italy from an old man. Jett takes Brook to Italy and seduces her and decides he wants to date her officially. But upon return to the USA Brook discovers that she is the heir to the same estate that Mayfield is trying to acquire ...... Coincidence?!?!
I can't wait til the next book......”
“Game, Set, Match
Jett doesn't know the meaning of no and Brooke does her best to teach him it. However neither of them is going down without a fight and in the game of love its anyone's game.
This is a fast paced romance with tough heroine's, annoyingly sexy hero's, and some great action. New York was the perfect setting for these two character's and really matched there stubborn attitudes. My favorite part of the book was the steamy and sometimes hilarious banter between these two. I always like a good battle of wits. The romance itself was nicely paced and believable. There was definitely some chemistry between Jett and Brooke and it practically sizzled of the pages.
Brooke isn't one for permanent relationships. She is a fun, smart, and independent heroine that knew how to get things done. I really liked her and felt that she was a perfect match for Jett.
Jett has a similar personality to Brooke and yet from the moment he meets her he knows he has met his match. He is charming and witty, especially with Brooke. Jett is a bit stubborn, but it proves to be a benefit when it comes to Brooke. I really enjoyed seeing how he went about wooing Brooke.
