If you're a foodie, you will be dying to go out for an expensive, fabulous dinner after reading this. Not as funny as Tender at the Bone, but a great glimpse into the world of food critics.

I read this book for my Literary Luncheon group and really enjoyed the book. What an interesting life. It made me want to test out the multiple personality thing myself and see if I took on different personas as I dressed up in different identities:-) My Literary Luncheon group got together after reading the book and made several of the recipes in the book. What a great time and the recipes were delicious. If you decide to make one of her recipes, may I strongly suggest the Aushak....mmmm....it was delish!

Another great read from Ruth Reichl! Her descriptions of food leave you salivating; this one includes recipes that look do-able for an average cook like me. I envy the clarity with which she recalls incidents of her life. What a treasure! I can't wait to read her next book.

Food glorious food! I love reading Ruth Reichl's descriptions about food! Food critics are by far the luckiest people on the planet. Beautifully descriptive, and she adds recipes!

I felt like I was in New York and I learned what it could be like living and working there. I've read all of her books a and was interested in finding out how she became editor of Gourmet magazine and this tell all about that. I liked hearing about the restaurants, her collegues, family, recipes, disguises etc. It also had some humor.
