“I did not finish the book. Although the narrative was somewhat interesting, it was not enough for me to want to finish the book.”

I've read this book multiple times, and will read it again. The writer's family was quirky to say the least, and she tells the story of her growing up in a way that's both funny & tender. A great read.”

What I found truly amazing is that this woman grew up to be an expert on food and cooking even though her mother was so totally clueless about food preparation that she regularly sent people to the hospital with food poisoning! (It would be funny if it weren’t so scary.) You’ll read about this as she relates the story of her youth and finding her passion as a young adult.
Reichl followed this memoir with another about her adult life, Comfort Me With Apples, which is good but not as entertaining as her first.

“Love it so far! Very funny! The last half was a bit disappointing.”
