I liked this book the best in the series so far. I had originally thought this was a trilogy but based on the ending that isn't correct.
I was concerned when Zane appeared and seemed to be working with the dragon killers but he explained he was protecting Lia's family and that she'd promised...

This was definately not my favorite of the series in fact I liked it the least, a bit confusing and jumbled for my taste.

This was also a great book. The concept is original and the plot was always moving.

This series has acquired the wonderful ability to get stronger, more complex and more involved the further it is read ('Queen of Dragons' being a perfect example for that). The tension that has built to the end of this book is a great start for the next one, and I find myself wanting to read more and more to find out the outcome of it all. Well done.

I love Shana Abe's stories of the drakon. This one was an interesting story with a good resolution to the romance, but a weak resolution to the ourside conflict. In fact, there was no resolution at all to the outside conflict ... I am assuming you will need to read the next book for a resolution. Love the hero - strong, loyal to family, intense leadership.

A worthy investment. Maricara is now grown now, and in her bid to warn Lia’s brother, the Alpha ruler of her tribe, of the imminent danger that the drakons are facing, she left the Carpathian mountains to fly across to the lair to meet and prepare them for battle.

Kimber is prepared to do all he must to protect the tribe, and the tribe having engaged him to be married to Mari without her knowledge, he must now, at all costs, get her to agree to the union in truth. Even while human hunters stalk them, Kim courts and persuades Mari to the reality of their attraction to each other. As one by one, the drakons of his tribe were picked off and killed, suspicion of Mari’s innocence and motives began to put a strain on their burgeoning love.

This is probably my least favorite of the Drakon series thus far. If you read my reviews for those, you'll recall that I found both the leading men extremely insolent and arrogant. Well, nothing has changed on that end. The only difference is, now, the leading lady is just as annoying.

I'm not a big fan of the fated-to-love-you (or rather, genetically predestined) or love-at-first-sight ideas.

Even if the plot had been extraordinary (it wasn't), my lack of enthusiasm for the characters would have been hard to reconcile.

I've liked each Drakon book less than the one before but even so, I'm curious about "the rest of the story" so I'll hang in for the next chapter. Queen of Dragons felt like half a book, in that it left more subplots open than finished.
