This is my first murder mystery to read. I had trouble putting it down. It seems every other chapter something else was happening.

Description: When Tricia moved to Stoneham six months ago, she was planning to fulfill a lifetime dream of opening a mystery bookstore. She had a plan... a plan that didn't include becoming the number-one suspect in a murder investigation. As if that wasn't bad enough, her annoying older sister has popped in for an unannounced visit. But at least business is booming...

My thoughts: Doesn't a town whose economy is based on classy used bookstores sound like a great place to live?

It took me a couple of chapters to get into this story, but I ended up really enjoying it. Tricia is a fun protagonist; I kind of wish I had her life. The interaction between she and her sister, Angelica, was highly entertaining. There are plenty of other quirky characters in the town of Stoneham to keep the story moving along, as well. Lots of potential for future installments.

The mystery here was just the right amount of intriguing, and not too grisly. A perfect book to curl up with on a rainy afternoon. (Not that I would know that from personal experience- I have kids!)

Anyway, I don't have a whole bunch to say about this book, other than that it was a fun and quick read. If you enjoy "cozy mysteries" this is a great choice for you!

A tale of two sisters in a sleepy New England town. One set broken by loss the other set dealing with the accusations resulting from it. Love it when it the mystery is 'fair' - you can see the clues in retrospect, when all finally becomes clear. I can't wait to see what happens to Tricia & Ange next :D

First book in a series featuring mystery book store owner Tricia Miles. Tricia is forced to solve the mysterious death of a neighboring store owner when she falls under suspicion for the murder. Interesting characters, fast pacing, clever plot.

I thought I had this one figured out, so I was pleasantly surprised when I didn't. I also liked the fact that in this cozy mystery the sheriff's department seemed to be out to get the main character. Can't wait to see what happens to Trish and her sister in the next book.

I enjoyed it, I love the little twists and turns the author lead me through, but overall I found that something was missing. But here's the thing, I cannot put my finger on what was lacking. I just can't figure it out!

I liked most of the character, the main character Tricia was likable enough, and I could understand her plight, her sister was comic relief (IMO), great friendly characters like Ginny and Mr Everett. And then there was the Sheriff, and I can honestly tell you that she gave me the willies. Didn't like her at all. Maybe that's it. Nope, that's not it.

Oh well....Anyway, it was an enjoyable enough read and I'm looking forward on reading more books from this author.

One of two books in "A Booktown Mystery" series. I picked this up to read while we were experiencing some rainy weather. I wanted a light, cozy mystery and this fit the bill. Read it in two days, if you liked the TV show, Murder, She Wrote, you'll enjoy this.

3.5 stars. Tricia is fairly new to Stoneham, a small town with a renewed tourism industry and a focus on bookstores. Tricia has run the mystery bookstore for a few months. When she discovers a neighbouring bookstore owner murdered, Tricia, herself, is embroiled in a mystery. The sheriff is convinced Tricia killed Doris and is intent on proving it, so Tricia has to do some of her own sleuthing to prove her innocence.

This is a really cute book. I liked the characters in the book, and of course, loved Tricia’s cat, Miss Marple! And for those who like to cook, there are recipes at the end (Tricia’s sister, Angelica loves to cook).

This is one of those it has been done before mysteries - I've read something very like it. But it rather annoyed me - the heroine being suspected of the murder and needs to solve it for herself - that annoys me for some reason - perhaps because it has been done so many times. That said I am reading the second in the series lets see if that is any better.
