It had all the humor of an Adams book, but it never really went anywhere plot wise like the previous books did. I really hope Mostly Harmless is like the first 3 books

i get the impression that this was slapped together quickly for money. A few funny bits and didn't feel like simply a retread of the first two books like the third one did but then again this book doesn't feel like much of anything. By the halfway point I felt like I was forcing myself to read on just to finish it and move onto something better.

This book is more of a novella, or an idea for a story patched together into a book, than a full novel in the Hitchhikers series. This does not stop the book being either charming, nor endearing though. As always Douglas Adams manages to bring his own fresh, unique look at the Universe and twist it into something ridiculous, yet believeable. And neither is he afraid of tackling the big issues; in this case the search for God's final message to creation; and yet still managing to come up with something brilliant to present, where so many other books fall flat by trying to be too clever.

This is the fourth book of the Arthur Dent return Earth eight years after it blows up . He finds that both the Earth is there and he has only been gone for a few month . He meets a girl called California to see John Watson, aka "Wonko the Sane," . A few days after they return , Ford Prefect shows up and they hitchhike a ride to the planet where God's Final Message to His Creation is written. Where Arthur takes Fenchurch run into Marvin the Paranoid Android. The three walk on till they see God's Final Message. I would tell you what it is, but that would be giving away one of the few funny things in the book .

Now if still till going to read this book . You will get to a point where even the book will tell you to skip to the last chapter . Do what the book tells you .

There is no better tonic for depression than reading a Douglas Adams book.
