Liked It “I should've added this long ago-- just realized Douglas was unrepresented on my 'Favorites' shelf, which is NOT ok! This is the book I would recommend if you haven't read this author before... it's a stand-alone novel, not part of a series, and I think it's some of his best & most thoughtful work. Bizarre, hilarious, disturbing, and insightful-- about human nature, evolution, and environmentalism... also, it has ghosts and aliens. Awesome read! ”

Not an easy book to describe. It involves several interrconnected plots including an electric monk who believes things for people, a computer programmer, a disgruntled former magazine publisher, a very old professor and eventually Dirk Gently. I found the book amusing but it took a logn time to get going. Once the pieces started fitting together it was enjoyable.
