“yeah there are short stories for the book but it all took place when ender was a bit older I think when he was out of battle school because he wasn't in battle school when the one story happened where he met the girl at the school and brought her lunch and all that stuff. I think that was after the war and then it goes back in time to when he was acually in battle school. So if that straightens things out for you a bit frank that's great if not I'm sorry but that's all I can think of at this moment.”
“ok i just started reading Ender's Game im more than half way through it then i started to look if there were more books--which there are--and that is were i got confused there are short stories written in 2008 that go before EG book--im just confused and some straighten it all out for me 1st 2nd 3rd....etc..thanks--ITS A really good bOOK--and my sis read it in 8th grade with the class”
“This was the most amazing book I've read so far and probebly the best orson scott card book he's ever written. All the other books are more about his religion rather then anything else. Also the other books were very tiring.”
“I like this book but there are a lot of inconsistancies between this book, Ender's Shadow, and the rest of the Ender's Game series. In Ender's Game they never even once (to my memory) mention the word "Formic". But then if you read the newest book which is a direct follow-up to Ender's Game, all of a sudden the word "Formic" was said to be widely used sland in battleschool. Also things like Ender's "jeesh" and a lot of the sland words that was used in the Bean series were also never mentioned in Ender's Game. It was like Card decided to add more depth to what happened during Battleschool in the later books, even though it clearly wasn't so in Ender's Game. It would almost be worth it for Mr. Card to go back and make a second edition Ender's Game with the inconsistancies fixed. I know I would read it. Kind of like what a director's cut is to a movie. The inconsistancies aren't big but when you are reading the series back to back I notice them, and it bothers me a little. ”
“Why does everybody say something like "Even though it is geared towards adults, Ender's Game is a good book for children"? What?! Why would anybody ever do that? At the bookstore in my neighbourhood, it is in the adult section, and it should stay there. I thought it was kind of graphically violent. It didn't bother me, but 8 year old kids, like some people recommend read this book, wouldn't find it appropriate. And the language was PG-13 rated. This book gave me a nightmare once! *Semi-spoiler*When Ender crushes the snake's head in the fantasy game and sees Peter's face in the mirror, and I was kind of sick to my stomach when he gouged out the giant's eyes.*Spoiler overWhen people recommend this book to children, I wonder if they have even read this book. Or if they have any morals. It's an AWESOME book, but kids, it's not for you.”
“Awesome Book!”
“At first I wasn't very interested with this book when my brother became obsessed. But, last week, I guess I decided to give it a shot, due to its augmenting popularity in my school. I read Ender's Game in two days, spending almost every minute of my time flipping the pages. I love this book. Ender's life often reminds me of mine, because he was a tool, a robot, used for others' purposes. He hardly ever had time for himself because he was doing what others insisted on him doing. When I saw this book on various shelves of my friends, all with a five star rating, I couldn't resist. It has now become one of my most valued and favorite books.”
“I can't say I am really keen on this book. I find it really difficult to care one way or the other about Ender. The only thing that makes me hope he's ok in the end is because he is a kid. I don't particularly enjoy the language, not just the swearing but the slang used by the children just doesn't seem natural to me, it jars me every time.”
“I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I am sending you another all time fav (although not sci fi, but still full of big ideas). P.S. Leave it to you to take the opportunity to plug audio books!”
“Alright I personally thought this book was entirely stupid. okay so this really smart kid goes to this space school. And then all the teachers think the way he ticks is genius. He's a 6 year old. It's just his character. and ya know what I never got?? When they covered their bodies with there legs to stop from freezing, wouldn't if they were in a real battle, just die? Honestly...stupid.”
