• Lilac LaRoux: Lilac Rose LaRoux is the richest girl in the galaxy. Her father is the owner of LaRoux Industries, the only galactic corporation with the resources to terraform entire planets. Lilac is known for her lavish parties and her killer fashion sense, and has been the media’s darling ever since she was born. Though life in the spotlight leaves little room for secrets, there’s still plenty that the paparazzi don’t know about her. She’s much more than she appears to be on the magazine covers and holovid specials--and she prefers to keep it that way.
• Tarver Merendsen: Tarver Merendsen is a decorated war hero. He enlisted when he reached his majority at sixteen, and by eighteen has been promoted with unusual speed to the rank of Major, acquiring a chest full of medals along the way. Raised on a quiet planet in a rural area, he’d rather spend an evening with his platoon than facing down a room full of cameras, and he’s uncomfortable in the spotlight. High society makes his teeth hurt. But despite appearances, he’s about to discover that Lilac LaRoux isn’t like the rest of them. And if they’re going to survive, they’re going to have to work together.
