This is a sentimental story of a mother who rocks her newborn baby to sleep each night while singing these words: "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be." She continues to sing the words to her son throughout his life - during the difficult "terrible twos" period, when he is an active nine-year-old, and through his teenage years. She even sneaks into his house by climbing up a ladder to sing to him when he is an adult. Eventually the mother ages, and the son sings the song to her as she dies, and then to his own infant son back at home. (1001 Children's Books - KD)
