I might not agree with each and every example they give, but it is one of the only books that gives specific examples of life lessons we might encounter with our children, opportunities for them to learn by natural consequences. Of all the parenting books I have encountered, this seems to make the most natural sense, letting the child "own" the responsibility and follow the consequences. I feel much more able to let go of things - without releasing my kids' responsibililties for following rules and meeting reasonable family expectations. If they fail to do what they need to, it is their problem, not mine, and they will meet the consequence. As the authors repeat, we will not be there when they are grown and have a job, and it is far easier to let them meet the consequences now rather than in adulthood. Choices now versus choices when they've never learned how to make them . . .”

I got it and read it when my boys were 10 months old. I enjoyed it, but decided to go ahead and get the Love & Logic Magic for Early Childhood. I found the early childhood book to be more in depth and better suited for my situation.
I will keep this book for a long time. The 2nd half of the book is all real life examples from specific situations and is a great reference. However, if you have kids under 6, I would recommend waiting on this one and getting the early childhood edition.”
“This was really good and had tons of awesome ideas, most of which I agree with.
The problem was is that it's SO much information it gets overwhelming.
I should just take it one chapter at a time and practice the concepts learned in that ONE chapter.”
“I found this book and others in the series a huge benefit to raising my 4 children. I went to a Love & Logic seminar when all 4 were teenagers. I found the principles based on how our Heavenly Father parents His children and values their agency while they are learning to become more like Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. ”

I'm hoping this will have the answer or maybe make me feel better for what I'm already doing!?”

I'm only giving it 3 stars because I think they take the theory a bit too far in some instances (like if your kid punches another kid) and it's a bit religion heavy for my tastes. Still worth the read though because there is a lot of good advice, taken in moderation.”
