“I read this book back in 2007. It was good enough to finish reading but not good enough to say that was great, you have it read it. It was whimsical, I guess that is what kept me reading. Karen”

I was familiar with the story because I saw the writer, E. Gilbert during an Oprah show interview, but I was not tempted to buy it because I imagined it would be one of the many self-search/development books full of advice on how to find one's balance, happiness in life.
After going through the first chapters, I must admit it proved me wrong. Although the story is centered around EG's quest for finding pleasure, devotion and balance while traveling through Italy, India & Indonesia, the book succeeds to stand out among similar writings and finally capture you with the witty dialogue, sincere introspection, surprising humor and wins you over with the candor and openness of the author describing her inner struggle and reflections on life. I would recommend it to all young women before deciding to take a serious step - such as choosing a life-time partner/getting married. The most important lesson in this book is that first you need to feel at peace, happy with yourself & then all the nice things in life will come your way. ”
