I've tried three times to read this book and it is KILLING ME! It is my current book club selection. We meet at the end of the month to discuss it and I can't get past page....10! I wanted to get it on cd but there are 15 cds to listen to...ugh!

I 100% Agree! I have tried and tried, but can't seem to get through this one. I keep picking up and finishing other more interesting books and leaving this one sitting on the night stand.

i also agree, her writing style is OK, being a journalist, but what a self-obsessed person. glad it is not on my book club's list, in fact, suggested NOT, when the title came up.

I never got out of Italy, but by then I was convinced that however clever and "new journalisimy" this woman is, she has nothing to teach me about enlightenment, I don't care where she is. Don't waste your time. Life is too short to read bad books!

This book came highly recommended and I also agree it was painful! I did not like the main character and would have divorced her as well.
