As far as I gotten, this book is making me wonder that are mom isn't very bright. Many people say it was a mistake for her parents to get married. Kids around her make fun of her because of the slowness of her mother.
Justina recommend me this book because it made an impact in her life. I thought this book would be interesting to read because of the title. I figured this book was about Louisiana and what its like. Once I started reading this book, it changed my thought of it. This book makes you just want to keep reading and not stop. I have been trying to make time for it so i can see what happens. It's sad but at the same type that just shows you to appreciate everything you have even though if your embarrassed.
It's so sad, the little girl's grandma just past away. She was bitten by a rattlesnake while tending to her garden. I felt like crying when I read this part because her and her parents lived with her grandma, who they depended on. The little girl always would help her grandma in her garden and she was attached to her grandma. Even though she still has her parents, it's still not the same. It must be really hard especially for her mom, because her grandma was her moms mom. Her mom would stay up crying all night. The little girl's aunt comes to visit them and they end up moving in with her aunt.
I haven't got to the next part, but I think everything is going to be different especially for her mom. The little girl is going to lose self confidence without her grandma to give her the boost. Her grandma would always make her day whenever the kids at school would make fun of her. Even though shes embarrassed of her mom, you can tell she really loves her.
So far I can see that this book is based on a little girl (Tiger Ann) who learns the lesson of about the bonds of family. You can tell in this book that she is not very happy about her life and the family she grew up in. Tiger Ann always get made fun of by her other classmates due to her mother who suffers brain damage. Later on in the book Tiger stays with her aunt and she starts to miss her own home. This is when she learns her lesson about her family, because it doesn't matter if her mother is a little damage she still loves both of her parents just the same. In the book I posted a post about her grandma. Her grandma is important because Tiger thinks she is the only person who Tiger can relate too.
