Audrey breaks up with Evan because he's so terribly preoccupied with his band "The Do-Gooders." Evan takes the break up badly, so he writes a song about how she broke up with him, walked away, and never looked back. When he performs it in front of an audience, Audrey is shocked. One thing leads to another and The Do-Gooders land a record deal, a musical tour, and their famous song, "Audrey, Wait!" is on the radio constantly. People begin to find out that Audrey Cuttler is the Audrey in the song and she gets sucked into the fame. She gets interviewed, stalked, has intimate relations with the lead singer of her favorite band, and the attention gets to a point where she can hardly leave her house. She learns what she can and cannot say in front of a reporter very quickly when they can't recognize sarcasm.
