“Well "fiddle-le-dee" I'm just wondering what happened to "the Atlanta Ball"?. How could anyone leave out the Atlanta Ball? The story was a bit confusing and hard to follow. However, I liked it better then "Scarlett". I liked the history. As much as using the "N" word and as ugly as the KKK is it was history, it should be told. I did not like the way Ripley (Scarlett) tried to be so politically correct for our time by taking the whole ugly truth out. By the way, why do I have a feeling that another book will be comming out about Ellen O'Hara? ”
“I'm really a big fan of GWTW. Is this book a sequel of the original....or a prequel? Is this book contradicts the story of the novel Scarlett?”
“Okay so I LOVE LOVE the movie Gone With the Wind. I havent read GWTW so for me this book is amazing, so I am happy I've not read it yet! Don't even try to compare it with the original. I always loved Scarlet for her tantrum ways and pig headedness. After you read it, watch the movie again, It's AWESOME you will appreciate it so much more!”
“ugh. Couldn't even make it halfway. Too confusing for me and I felt the author copied whole tracts of GWTW and inserted them where he was too lazy to write his own words.”
“I seriously loved this book. I find Rhett to be far more interesting than Scarlett, probably only because in GWTW we really didn't know much about him. Rhett Butler is pretty much my ultimate man.”
“I was very disappointed in this book and had to force myself to finish it. I found it very confusing but that was probably just because it could not hold my interest.”
“I debated reading this book and have not done it yet. Reading these, I am glad I did not. I was sorry after I read Scarlett, and have semi-succesfully blocked it from my memory, preferring to remember only GWTW...as my Nanny Mary says, "Don't mess with perfection!"”
“I am so glad I downloaded this book to my iPod rather than have carried around the book - I'd have died of embarrassment! How anyone could comfortably read this book and find anything favorable in it completely befuddles me.White supremacy, the N word used prolifically, a minstrel gets his hand stomped on by confederate who goes on to lead the KKK in his town then when he commits suicide before he can be sentenced to death, the author expresses pity. I repeat, I'm embarrassed I've read this novel. Shame on any of you for finding this a good book.”
“Historical fiction needs to be as accuarte as possible and McCaig has done his homework on this one. It was a great read! Action, drama, poignancy & informative all at the same time. Well developed characters following the original characters of 'Gone With The Wind' This needs to be made into a movie...!”
“I have to admit, from the middle to the end of this book I was kind of confused. I realize the Margaret Mitchell estate approved of this book, but they also approved of Scarlett as well, and these are two different stories. It would have been better had the last 100 pages or so followed Scarlett as well and more closely to GWTW.”
