“My favorite in the series so far. Probably my favorite big, bad nasty of all time. Who can't identify with crazy-ass Sawney Beane? ”

Who would have though it. Madhouse is another good gritty novel from Rob which I greatly enjoyed. And finally, we learn some little tidbits of Robin Goodfellow's history.”

Who could have guessed that business could dry up in New York City, where vampires, trolls, and other creepy crawlies are all over the place? But now there-s a new arrival in the Big Apple. A malevolent evil with ancient powers is picking off humans like sheep, dead-set on making history with an orgy of blood and murder. And for Cal and Niko, this is one paycheck they-re going to have to earn.

“I'd just be repeating what I've said in the first two books I reviewed in this series. I love it, and so will you! ”

I recommend all four (to date). Two bad guys this time: Sawney Beane, crazy re-animated cannibalistic killer of hundreds ... and somebody who's after Robin. Cal, Niko, Robin, and Promise are hard-put to locate and contain Beane while at the same time keeping Robin alive. Of course Cal's curiousity gets the best of him as he tries to figure out who and why someone would seriously want to kill Robin (I mean, the puck annoys everyone, doesn't he?). Once again it's the characters and their relationships that really make this series, and they were all in full form this time around.”

This is volume three, and features more of the same stuff that got me hooked on this sub-genre... but thankfully without the freaky s&m sex scenes that seem to pop up in a lot of urban fantasy books.”
