  • Caliban "Cal" Leandros: Half-human, half-Auphe. Part-time bartender at the Ninth Circle, part-time private investigator, and full-time self-proclaimed lazy slob.
  • Nikolai "Niko" Leandros: Cal's older half brother. Expert swordsman. Part-time history graduate student and part-time private investigator.
  • Robin Goodfellow: Puck, used car salesman. Lecherous and full of debauchery. Friend of Cal and Niko.
  • Promise: Vampire, partner in Cal and Niko's PI firm, and Niko's girlfriend.
  • Sawney Beane: Scottish mass murderer and Redcap who killed (and ate) close to a thousand people in the fifteenth century before being defeated by an army and burned at the stake. Now he's come back from the dead and is picking up where he left off.
  • Sangrida Odinsdottir: Valkyrie and director of the Metropolitan Museum.
  • Wahanket "Hank": Living mummy in the basement of the Metropolitan Museum. Technophile and scholar.
  • Delilah: Werewolf. Sister of Flay (another werewolf introduced in Moonshine)
  • Ishiah: Peri (angel-like species) and owner of the Ninth Circle. Has known Robin a long time.
  • Seraglio: Robin's housekeeper.
  • Ham Piper: Sax player who plays the streets and the Ninth Circle occasionally. Better known as the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and has a thing for pretty female vampires.
  • Georgina "George": Psychic and seer of New York City.
  • Boggle: A monster living in a mud puddle in Central Park with love of pretty, shiny things and human flesh. This one is a mother with a brood of "boglets."
  • Ken Nushi: Doctor at Columbia Presbyterian and special seminar instructor for premed upperclassmen at Columbia University. Also known as O-Kuni-Nushi, a Japanese healing spirit.
