The suspense is good, the characters are believable, and she does a great job of keeping you guessing. There's more than one convincing red herring (I did *not* guess the bad guy!), and you're not really sure if you can really trust Yvette until the very end. Patti wasn't the greatest leading character -- but the other characters, especially Stacy and Spencer, make up for it. As always another great book from spindler.

While I thoroughly enjoyed I agree with many of the reviewers that Patti wasn't an interesting character. I was far more intrigued with Spencer and Stacy, both their personal lives and their how the Handyman was affecting their work. Thankfully Spindler didn't necessarily focus on Patti, she was just one of the main characters.

Enjoyed the in-depth look of New Orleans and how Spindler wrote the description for the city, you definitely could visualize the surroundings.

Fantastic twist, I had no idea who it was until near the end. Spindler did a shiny job on leading us readers down various paths that were wrong and yet we felt convicted it was true/right.

Could've been a bit more suspenseful for me but still a really enjoyable read.

It wasn't a bad story at all. I would have never guessed who the handyman was. A cool whodunit.

I did this book earlier, since I brought the book and be ahead of the other picks left to read in the next 5 weeks. A great suspense thriller in Post-Katrina New Orleans with drama, action and intrigue.

I really did not enjoy this book at all. The just never fell in love with the characters so the story started to bother me.

A real pageturner with a lot of good suspense. A serial killer who is chopping off the right hand of female victims. Patti O'Shay is obessed with finding her husband's killer during the hurricane Katrina. You can't decide wheter Yvette can be trusted or not. A lot of suspense trying to figure who the killer is. I did pick the right person but not the why?

Spindler is a great author. This book was excellent, set in New Orleans post Katrina it really summed up a lot of what went on there. The book is fabulous.
