I've read Love Scheme and all of the books about the Ramsey family by Ms. Washington. Let me just say I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed reading Zakira's and Malik's story. This couple were truly soul mates. However, I must say I was a little upset with Malik's decision to keep Zakira in the dark. On one hand I understood he didn't want her to see him physically deteriorated and at his weakest. Zakira's reaction to Malik's behavior was totally on point. Her emotional turmoil of wanting to take him back vs. not wanting to be bothered was so real! Although I felt Malik's actions were selfish, in the end he totally realized the impact his decisions had on his wife and his marriage. This story speaks of the relevance of honesty and open communication in a marriage/relationhip. It also demonstrates that sometimes what we do to protect those we love may not always be in our or their best interest.

First time reading a book by this author
Ms. Washington. It was sweet, sad, passions love story. About a husband who find out he is serious ill, and he pushes his wife away. Zakira and Malik where deeply in love and things where wonderful in their lives. He leaves Zakira to deal with the restaurant on her own. Malik lets his pride, love, trust, promised marriage vows, when he left. He goes away, and comes back fully recovery and trys to rebuild their marriage.
Drama breaks off between Zakira and Malik. The second romace in the novel is Trekel and Edwina, they are madly in love. Eddie is unsecurities about Trekel and they are having trouble too. Trekel helps Malik with a stupid plan that was to leave his wife. I felt so sad and unhappy, and a few tears, I got so caught up in this book. Both couples trying to struggle to get their lives back together. Which they do find happiness that they deserve. Wonderful Love Story. Read this book in a day, because I didn't want to put it down. True was a page turner. Ms. Washington did a fantastic job with this book. Much Read!!

    Can Love Be Recaptured?!!

This is the first novel I've read by Ms. Washington, and she really MAKES YOU FEEL and THINK throughout this novel. It is a sweet, passionate, yet often sad love story. Ladies, what could be worse than a proud man?!! How 'bout a married man FULL of pride! A husband that selfishly pushes his wife a way in his time of sickness. Malik and Zakira Badu, are deeply in love and living a good life, until Malik develops a serious health issue. Malik lets pride and his over-protectiveness get in the way of love, trust and his PROMISED marriage vows and leaves Zakira to deal with everything on her own. Malik comes back into her life after his recovery. However is it too late to rebuild their marriage and will she ever be able to trust him again?!!! At his surprise return all kinds of drama jumps off not only for Zakira and Malik, but their good friends unfortunately get caught in the crossfire of Malik's unexpected homecoming. Which brings us to the secondary romance in this novel between Trekel and Edwina. They are extremely attacted to one another, yet their relationship comes to an abrupt halt due to Eddie's insecurities and Tree's involement in helping Malik pull off his "idiotic" plan to leave his wife. Can both these couples get pass these issues to regain the love they felt for one another.~~~~~~~This story took me on a emotional rollercoaster ride. It made me angry, it also made me so sad, that I had to grab the Kleenex, yet it also made me LOL, too. You will get caught up in all the drama as these couples struggle through their issues in the hopes of recapturing their "happily-ever-after" and discovering and holding on to what is TRULY important in their lives. Definitely an intense read. Good job, Ms. Washington!
