  • Johnis: A 16 year old who tried to join the Forrest Guard, but didnt make it. But Johnis proves himself and is sent to undertake a special mission from Elyon along with his three friends.
  • Silvie: A thoughtful young warrior who lost lost her parents to the Horde and who becomes Johnis's ally when she joins him on the journey.
  • Darsal: A girl who is selected to go on a the special mission from Elyon with Johnis. Darsal fights with Johnis and second guesses most of his decisions, even when he proved that he clearly knew what he was doing. She eventually becomes Johnis's ally.
  • Billos: A controlling, quick deciding warrior who only cares about what he thinks. Billos fights Johnis's decisions and takes action, doing what he thinks is best without consulting with the group. In the end Billos also becomes an ally to Johnis.
  • Thomas Hunter: The leader of the Forest Guard. He decides that Johnis will go on the mission from Elyon to be a leader. Thomas realizes that Johnis thinks with his heart instead of his mind, which is exactly what he had been trying to teach the others in the Forest Guard.
  • Teelah: An evil presence who wants to kill off the rest of the Forest Dwellers and all who dont serve him.
