I will buy it as soon as I sell something so I can go back through and underline and highlight and do all the exercises! This book is absolutely fantastic and I plan to investigate the series further!” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Some good pointers though I'm a little uncertain about "the middle" and "the second doorway." Perhaps I'll learn more by reading more. I also have a book on middles etc. Hopefully that will help. In any case, back to working on my novel draft on Tiananmen Square and the aftermath!”

I enjoy it a lot, actually, and find that I already do a lot of the techniques and methods it has in it. I've actually recommended it to my writing friends. This is a book I think can actually help a lot of people. I'm thinking of looking into the other Write Great Fiction books.”

I've been a fan of Bell's fiction work but this is a must have for the book shelf.”

Instead, let me tell you why you should read this book. If you are serious about writing and want to be taken seriously, this book is for you. James Scott Bell writes clearly and to the point. Everything in this book is practical to a fault. The sixteen or so dollars it costs will be far better spent on it than the hundreds paid to some critiquing service!
How I wish I read and applied the tips Bell gives before submitting my first query letter. It would have save me a lot of grief and embarassment.
