On it's own merits, I think The Prophet of Yonwood is quite good. The characters are fairly realistic and the story interesting. I especially enjoy the various ways it explores the excesses that faith can lead to. As part of the series, I think this book needs work. The context of this book...

As compared to the other two books, this one had far less going on. It is a good book but it's loosely connected to the first one. It was okay.

On it's own merits, I think The Prophet of Yonwood is quite good. The characters are fairly realistic and the story interesting. I especially enjoy the various ways it explores the excesses that faith can lead to. As part of the series, I think this book needs work. The context of this book in relation to the others is not clearly delineated until the second to last page of the books. Expecting another book with Doon and Lina, the reader finds themselves suddenly with a completely new cast of characters in an entirely different setting. Additionally, I do not think that this book really adds any new information to the series.

This is the prequel to the previous two books of Ember. A mysterious prophet, snake and all the dogs gone missing will have you wondering: How did Ember happen?

I didn't like this one as much. It was nice to give a kind of set of for the first book but then this should have been the first book.

Awesome book! I prefered the others, though. The dog was my favorite character. :-)

Not too sure why they put the prequel third but still good.
