Far superior to Saving Destiny

Galen, the bad-boy demon, comes to Dawn thinking he's going to do his demon thing and move on with his demon life. Love for Dawn falls on him like a ton of bricks. These elements are great for a main storyline. What got me were the plot holes and real lack of a driving plot. Too many ideas and characters are tossed in when the book gets a little slow and there's no real follow through with those.

An intimate paranormal romance with a demon: suspenseful, romantic, fantastic!

NIGHT MISCHIEF by Nina Bruhns is the third installment of the exceptional Dark Enchantments paranormal romance series. Intimate moments and suspenseful conflicts make for a delightful read.
While teaching students, Lady Dawn Maybank accidentally calls forward a real spell and a real demon! In an effort to retrieve a family heirloom, Dawn makes a deal with a demon--to spend 5 nights with him. The problem is that she works for the Cadre where demons are taken as prisoners and put in crystal jails. Demon, Galen McManus, has made a deal too but he also has secret alliances. His growing attraction for Dawn is definitely a kink in the business of being an incubus!
In the third book of the Dark Enchantment series, Nina Bruhns steps up the steaminess level while maintaining the thematic structure so carefully constructed by the previous two authors. Once again, the author creates a unique story but one that expands the entire scope of the series. The romance here is steamy --- blazing hot in the way only demon sex can be. But what happens when it's more than just sex for the demon? A lot of trouble for the Cadre as well as for Dawn and Galen for sure!
NIGHT MISCHIEF, though different in tone from the preceding books, builds upon the Cadre setting, allowing the reader to walk inside its doors and meet more of its residents. The author develops characters met in Michele Hauf's book FAMILIAR STRANGER and develops the family relationship that Dawn has with her sister Aurora and their father. Definitely the most steamy of the three, NIGHT MISCHIEF also looks into the darkness of the wounded heart and opens the night to the power of love. With the addition of NIGHT MISCHIEF, Dark Enchantments series is quickly becoming an exceptional multi-author series! Readers might have a favorite depending on taste and favored tone, but as a series, Dark Enchantments, is awesome! Each series installment seems to match the others in terms of quality reading delight! Bravo, Nina Bruhns!

I just love it when bad boys go good!

There's no badder bad boy than vengeance demon Galen McManus, and watching Galen's transformation as he discovers feelings he shouldn't have: guilt, honor, joy and love makes for a very satisfying romantic read.
Initially Galen is drawn to Cadre member and demon-hunter Dawn, through an inadvertent summoning spell strengthened by her secret feelings of jealousy and her dark desire for vengeance. Otherworldly and sensuous, dark gorgeous Galen, bespells Dawn and makes her an offer she can't resist. Ultimately Both Galen and Dawn get more than they bargained for.
Although I have enjoyed many of the Nocturnes, Night Mischief was truly a wonderful surprise. I was expecting a light paranormal romance, but this was so much more, mainly because the Galen and Dawn were so well fleshed out. And since the author, Nina Bruhn, allows us to view both Galen's and Dawn's inner most thoughts, we get an intimate view into their forbidden relationship as it develops from the sizzling initial attraction, into a deep and powerful connection that inspires demon Galen to sacrifice everything for the women he loves.
Night Mischief is the third book in the Dark Enchantment collaboration. So far all the books in the series have been good, but Night Mischief exceeded all my expectations. It was a wonderful romantic read and it isn't necessary to read the others to get full enjoyment from this one.

Lady Dawn Maybank's ancestors founded the Order of the Cadre, an organization dedicated to preventing humans from coming to harm from evil supernatural entities that most rational people deny exist. Unlike its competition P-Cell, a section of M15, they either send a demon home or capture it in a crystal for eternity. One fog filled day Dawn runs into the demon Galen McManus who is a vengeance demon that she inadvertently found masquerading as an incubus.
He offers her something that her father has been fruitlessly searching for, the Demon Star. It was stolen by the destruction demon Rofocale and Angus won it in a card game so he claims. He will give it to Dawn in return for five nights in her bed. Her desire for paternal approval is so great she accepts his offer. Their boudoir time is hot and steamy. Dawn comes to love her strange bedfellow although she knows demons only feel anger and lust. Angus' surprised when he realizes that he cares for her as well. He is uncomfortable with these undesirable feelings preferring them to go away and is also afraid that P-Cell P-Cell is after him. He also knows one mistake with her family, and love is considered the biggest blunder to them, will have him crystallized for eternity although she is no demon-kind.
Nina Bruhns has written a diabolical paranormal romance focusing on a fascinating look at the demon mythos. They are the dark side of the universe bringing a necessary balance to the world. It is easy for readers to ignore that Angus is a demon because he oozes sex appeal that will lead readers to fall under his spell. He teaches Dawn much about herself and by mentoring her he learns about himself and his bias towards mortals. Their star-crossed romance is the stuff legends are made of.
