**SPOILERS** (kinda)

This book had the potential to be wonderful. The story was well crafted, and unlike in Twilight, Meyer wrote convincing and well-rounded characters. I was disappointed with the anticlimactic capture and "release" of the Seeker, but that's not what ruined this book...

Book Review on The Host, By Stephenie Meyer
The Host is a haunting read by the Twilight Saga author, Stephenie Meyer. Wanderer, a soul which has been taken to Earth from another planet, is put into the body of Melanie Stryder, a human who was in hiding. But as Wanderer wakes up in this new body, she finds that it is hard to control. Melanie is still strong inside her own body, as humans are normally not. Wanderer struggles to take full control over her new self, while Melanie tries to take Wanderer somewhere else. This is because Melanie is longing to reunite with her human love, Jared. Soon, Wanderer and Melanie befriend each other, and the two of them set on a quest to find Jared and her own family. But there is a twist. Humans feel that the souls are their enemies. The souls had taken over their planet, and were searching for humans to put more souls into. This was why the humans were in hiding from the souls. So if Melanie and Wanderer find Jared and the other humans, will the humans except the new Melanie? And will Melanie and Wanderer even find Melanie’s true love? Read the book and find out the truth.
If I were to rate this book out of five stars, I would give it a three and a half. Although this book wasn’t bad, it still wasn’t as captivating and interesting as I thought it would be. The first half of the book was not very hooking, and I struggled to keep reading. But the second half of the book made it more worthwhile, and I always wanted to read what was next. This was mainly because I wanted to know what would happen to Melanie and Wanderer. It is more science fiction in the first half of the book, and more romance with adventure in the second half. For the Twilight fans who haven’t read this yet, unless you enjoy science fiction as well as romance, maybe you should wait until Stephenie Meyer writes a different book. I would recommend this book to those who are more into science fiction but can tolerate romance in books. I wouldn’t recommend this book to people who have high expectations for this book or who aren’t patient with books. Otherwise, if you think you can hang onto The Host, the second half might be worthwhile for you as it was for me.

Very addictive, with a satisfying ending. Maybe a little too satisfying, but it's hard to complain about that. Highly recommended!

This book is by Stephine Meyer. She is also the Authr of The Twilight Saga.

This book is about Souls taking over the world. Souls go into your body and control your mind.A soul named Wanderer is inserted into Melody's body. But Melody will not fade away like she is supposed to. The two of them go on an adventure to find Melody's soul mate and Wanderer finds she is falling in love with him too. At fist Wanderer is not excepted by this group of runaway humans. But in the end the body is not big enough for booth of them.
