Eh. Seriously, this was this woman's life?? I have a hard time believing everything in it is true, both because her mom was such a liar and I highly doubt so many crazy things/situations/family members can happen to one person. I guess I read the little disclaimer at the front and it said something about how others may remember this story differently, but this is how I remember it, and I realize legally they probably have to put this in every memoir these days, but I think I went into it a...

    Crisp writing. As a stand-alone memoir, only 3 stars, but since her feelings mirrored many of my own with my own mother I gave it 4 stars. Seems somewhat self-indulgent, a bit whiny, but her writing style is captivating enough.
