“I DIDN"T until I read your post, and then I see your point...drug addicted pregnant girls, bratty twelve year olds, sociopaths like Ponyboy, victims like shaved head girl, expose of porn industry, tying multiple links together, trying to write a novel that includes EVERYTHING about Las Vegas......and yet I still think it is a good first novel. The use of multiple voices, the flow of the language, the sustained tension.....still think it is worth reading and I will probably read his future works......what do others think? Jane”
“I agree that the author does a great job with writing in the various characters voices and i think he does, at times, have a nice flow. i just find it difficult to understand why he felt the need to have include so many characters (i know their stories overlap and it is a story about running away, etc.). i think the novel would be much stronger and keep me interested if he focused more time and attention to the few main characters and developed their stories and characters better. but, hey, it's a lot better than i can do.”
