This was the introduction of a new character that I didn't expect. Hope is a character that was never focused on in the past books and has never been a strong character, so I didn't know what to expect with her character. I was pleasantly surprised, and enjoyed her tie to Karl. It was a great story and it left me wanting to read more about Hope Adams, and of course Karl as well.

Wasn't sure I would appriciate a book about Hope Adams, but it was a great book. Thought the infiltration into a gang had a few holes, but didn't really detract from the overall story. A few great plot twists that you didn't see till the end.

In this book we get a brand new narrator, Hope Adams, who we were introduced to briefly in the previous book. I really enjoyed this story, Hope was such an interesting and likable character to follow. Also there was so much action with characters getting killed left, right and center! I was definitely on the edge of my seat for the last several chapters!

As long as Kelley Armstrong sticks to her normal supernatural world and stays out of the afterlife, her writing is strong. Hope Adams, half demon with a hunger for chaos, is recruited for a dangerous mission by the leader of the Cortez Cabal, in payment for a debt she owes. They want her to go undercover and join a Miami gang that they suspect have intentions of creating trouble for them. As Hope successfully ingratiates herself into the gang, she finds herself falling for a handsome boy, who she hopes will help her forget her werewolf ex-lover Karl. When Karl returns from abroad to learn of Hope's involvement, he immediately tries to get her out, but things start moving too fast with kidnappings and murder. Sorcerer and cabal heir Lucas Cortez and his witch wife Paige Winterbourne are forced to come to Miami to help contain the chaos before their friends become victims themselves. It's another thrilling addition to the world of familiar and beloved characters that Armstrong fans have come to love, with the development of a new character to enjoy.

This is a silly but engaging series about werewolves, witches, vampires, and demons. Some cool relationships and decent sex scenes. A good beach-type or poolside read!

Thought I liked 'No Humans Involved'? Well, I am loving this book! It shows the dark side of power and how the heroine struggles with it while dealing with the dangers and difficulties of her world. Great sex, good writing, and believeable characters. Reading this at the same time as 'No Humans Involved' and either novel is solid enough to stand alone, but they play off each other's plotlines as well, weaving depth! Becoming a favorite series fast!

Definitely has become a fave now that I've finished it. I recommend this novel if you're looking for a strong female lead and a fun writing style.

Well hello there werewolf Karl. Another pack member that we get to learn about even though this is Hope’s book. I will admit I never thought of Karl being the way he is depicted in the book but it is great to see him be/act the way he does. We get a different outlook of him from past books and this cleans him up for us, along with giving us an idea of what Hope really is about. Great story line, not one I would have ever thought happening; and well thought out character involvement. Interesting to see Lucas’ father again and the tragedy that happens in this story, makes you kinda feel bad for past characters that you tend to put on the hate list ].]. On a happier note this is only the beginning of Karl and Hope so I’m really looking forward to more.
    Go Werewolves!
