“A strange, spare story, but very compelling. Can't help but want to follow the main character-- she's pretty crazy & very sane all at once, running from her abusive husband, whom it seems she just murdered. She has visions of the dead, they speak to her and sometimes taunt her. But she does run into people who find her appealing & take her in. Meanwhile, her two extremely nasty brothers-in-law are coming after her, hunting her and closing in. She takes to the mountains & finds a bona fide mountain man that she is drawn to and ends up spending a lot of time with. This was kind of dream-like but a good read. ”
