Characters edit see section history

  • Kendra Sorenson.: Seth's older sister. She figured out the hints that led to the discovery of the magical creatures, but she didn't see them first because she was afraid of trying the milk. She always likes to think through a problem and find the safest, most effective solutions before trying anything hasty, however she is very brave and willing to fight for what she believes in, when necessary. She also believes in people and even magical creatures, sometimes more than they deserve. She is an optimist. She is Fairykind.
  • Seth Sorenson.: Kendra's little brother. He is the first of the two grandkids to see the fairies, but he didn't have to put any effort into solving the riddles. He is reckless but learns to temper it with smarts. He makes friends with the satyrs easily and enjoys adventure. He also is extremely brave. He can be a real pain at times but also comes through in a pinch.
  • Stan Sorenson.: The caretaker of a fantasy-life preserve called Fablehaven. Stan Sorenson is Kendra and Seth's grandfather on their father's side. Grandpa leaves clues about the true nature of the preserve, in hopes that Kendra and Seth will discover the truth that it is a preserve for magical creatures. He is a strict rule enforcer, though Seth still finds ways to get around them.
  • Ruth Sorenson.: Kendra's and Seth's grandmother, Stan's wife.
  • Vanessa Santoro: A magic creature specialist.
  • Tanugatoa Dufu "Tanu": Potions master
  • Coulter Dixon: Magical relics master, and a good old friend to the Sornensons.
