This is a complex book. Lyga did a great job with the difficult subject of sex abuse, in this case between a teacher and a student. Note: There are some graphic scenes in the book but I think they were important to make the point that Josh was the victim and how he was manipulated by Eve (the teacher). I wouldn't be suprised if this book is banned, however, I applaude Lyga in writing a brave, mature book. I would only recommend this book to mature, high school readers.

I totally agree, Laura. I have a friend who was sexually abused and Lyga describes the thought-process and distorted logic perfectly. And I didn't think any of the sex scenes were all that graphic. I liked the book a lot and think teens will understand the point of the story -- and I definitely hope it will spur some discussion regarding abusive relationships. It was a really good read.
