“This is a great read—more “women’s fiction/chick lit” than romance, though there is a nice romance included. The heroine isn’t doing too well “making it” in New York, but she’s determined not to go back home to the Midwest. Nori looses her boyfriend, her job, much of her savings, plus gets splashed with slush—it’s just a sucky day—then her old imaginary friend, Gertie, turns up. And her mom. Mom’s left Dad and wants to try out NYC too. Gertie takes on a life of her own, getting Nori into more even trouble—I mentioned this when I first read it. It’s just a lot of fun. Well worth reading.”
