“Daniel Sutton (aka Lord Surbrooke) had just spotted the woman of his dreams from across the ballroom and had made up his mind to claim her as his when all of a sudden, she and the man standing next to her, announce their engagement. Plagued with a sense of guilt (for lusting over his friend’s bride) but yet helpless/powerless to deny his feelings for Carolyn, he spends the next few years apart from the happy couple; seeing them only when he has to,” narrates Sheridan to Mimi, while the latter was feeding her newly acquired pet mice. As Lola is not a fan of any sort of rodents, she has closeted herself in her office and refused to come out until the mice have been exiled from the RMB offices. Plus she’s kinda been on a Patricia Gaffney binge lately and probably will not emerge until she’s read Patricia Gaffney’s entire repertoire.

Jacquie D'Alessandro is one of my newly discovered authors and she's terrific. She writes characters whom you feel that you know and come to care about. This is Carolyn and Daniel's story.
