I love this book also. I think the sign of a good book is that is continues to resonate in your brain for weeks or even months after you finish reading it. That is very true of this book for me. I do agree that the ending seemed to be paced differently than the rest of the book - but it seemed to me that the author just wasn't sure where to go with it or perhaps was tired of writing in the same style. The ending didn't surprise me but instead served to solidify how much this had impacted Sarah's life and how destructive this horrific situation was to her. It is well worth reading - haunting, in fact.

I LOVED this book. Was just heart wrenching. I kept praying for a happy ending with the brother although I knew it wasn't possible. One of my all time favorites.

I would have put this novel on my favorite shelf, if the last 30 pages didn't seem like a different book. Was the author trying to make the story longer?

I really enjoyed this book, there were several moments when I felt close to sobbing hystericall and for a book to move you in such a way it must be a powerful story.

(Spoiler) However, I found it disappointing that Sarah would take her own life at 40, after building her separate life and having her own son. Do others find that odd?
