This is the third instalment of the Midnight Breed series, and it is the best of the lot.

The plot thickens. Elise, who lost her only son to the Rogues in the last instalment, leaves the safety of the Darkhavens sanctuary to carry out a one-woman vendetta against the enemies and their human henchmen, the Minions. “Not a bad series. Then again, not a great series either. It'll probably be taking a trip to the UBS as my book shelves are strating to protest. It's a vamp romance that has some originality to the whole vampire myth, but Adrian's execution (and writing style) leave something to be desired. Perhaps J.R. Ward has ruined me when it comes to other authors' portrayals of vampire fiction. Oh well...”
