This book was really good! I am hoping for a sequel too...like she did with Satin Dolls and it's sequel Satin Nights.

This book is out??? I was waiting for this. Some of you thought it started out slow and the end of the book was good but what was your overall opinion. On a scale of 1-10???

You know, I liked the ending. It was more realistic to me than if Tyrone just accepted it and they lived HEA. I only thought that Tyrone's mother would have made a fuss to see her granddaughter instead of just letting her son cut Nikkie and the baby out of their lives.

One of the interesting things that I found in the book was all of the layers of passing by so many people, some of them very subtle, just as Lucia was not the dumb party girl that she pretened to be when she was in public.

Did anyone else get a book that was missing about 35 pages. I ordered mine from Amazon and it was missing pages 89-121. I was just getting into the book and BAM!! I'm like what happened. So, I put it aside until I get a replacement.

I read this book in 3 days. Everyone is correct, the book starts off kind of slow. Once Shanika/Nikki moves to NYC to start her life as a white woman, I couldn't stop reading. I found this book to be good read however, I was disappointed with the ending of the book. I was left with many unanswered questions. Hopefully there will be a part II. Also, I wish the book would've focus some on the Jenkins Family and Rina's side of the family.

Shanika Ann Jenkins was born with light skin, blue eyes and blond hair. Her mother raised her to be proud of her heritage and race. However, most white people assumed she was white. After graduating college, she interviews for her dream job at a prestige’s PR firm in NYC. Unfortunately, she does not get the job because, she is told she isn’t "black enough." Shanika decides to "pass" and lands a position with the same company and becomes Nikki Jenson and starts living a whole new life as a white woman and leaving. her family behind. This book explores the bias, stereotypes and prejudices that we are still faced with in America.
