Mr. Coelho is such an amazing writer. I find myself always having insightful thought while reading his books.

a bit too idealistic for my taste.... BUT its still a good read, couldnt put it down, the images it created in my mind were fantastic, and chaotic and colorful...

The reader is unsure throughout the book whether this really happened or not. A strange book documenting a strange (fictional?) life that spans countries, time, and religion. Simply beautiful, with Coelho's trademark nonconformist writing style.

Only read the beginning. I couldn't get into it because it is told by several different people and was harder to follow.

I think this is the 4th book that I've read by Coelho and so far they've been very good and thought provoking. Although, I didn't like this book as much as I like the Alchemist or By the River. I know the reason that I didn't enjoy it as much is becuase the story is told by a number of people instead of the narrator or in first person. I don't enjoy reading books where the point of view switches often. I did like the idea of the book, the goddess religion coming back and the other ideas that Coelho spices his books with. His works, and this one in particular, make me think about my beliefs and how they were shaped and if i really believe them or if it just a conditioned response.

Interesting - full of Coelho's quotable philosopies.
Interesting - written as if transcribing many peoples' perspectives of one
Interesting - topics of gypsy/witch/freedom/society expectations...

I'm only a few pages into it at the moment, but it seems good so far. I am a horrible 'start-another-book-while-I'm-already-reading-four-others' person...
