This collection of stories spans the writing career of Mary E Wilkins Freeman for a 20 year period, ending with the last story in the collection, The Selfishness of Amelia Lamkin written in 1907. The stories not only reflect upon the character of the women each one describes, but also provide a glimpse into what life was like for these characters during that period of time.

There are 8 stories in all, and I really couldn't choose which one I liked best because I loved them...
